Coir Fiber Geo textiles, Errosion Control Blankets, Bio Logs

Coconut Coir Logs are a completely biodegradable erosion control option for hills, banks, shorelines, and other erosion prone areas.

Bio Logs

Geo-textiles are made of pure coir, drawn from the husk of the coconut without adding any synthetic material, and is a 100% natural product.

It is used as a Blanket to prevent soil erosion, accelerates growth of vegetation on banks and slopes. The distinctive feature compared to conventional geo textiles is that it is used for soil stabilization, reinforcement, landscaping and erosion control.

Erosion control Blankets are made of coconut coir fibre with photodegradable or biodegradable top and bottom grids stitched up together as forming a sandwich. Thickness of the coir layer changes according to the specified applications. Top and bottom layers holds coir fiber with the help of stitched yarn. These erosion control blankets have a life time of 5-10 years.

Coir fiber is naturally resistant to rot, moulds and moisture, it needs no chemical treatment. Hard and strong, it can be spun and woven into matting. They also have the right strength and durability to protect the slopes from erosion, while allowing vegetation to flourish. They can dissipate the energy of flowing water and absorb the excess solar radiation.

coir log
  • Temporary soil covering until vegetation starts
  • Shield against wind or water erosion
  • Re-enforce soil
  • Stopper of composed material, seeds & seed links
  • Enhance water draining
  • Coir has high tensile strength which protects steep surfaces from heavy flows and debris Coir Geotextile has three to five years longevity which allows for full plant and soil establishment, natural invasion and land stabilisation.
  • Being 100% natural and bio-degradable, coir fiber functions as a soil amendmentWater absorbent coir fiber acts as mulch on the surface and as a wick in the soil mantle. The excellent microclimate coir provides for plant establishment, natural invasion and balanced healthy growthCoir meshes provides restoration of terrestrial and aquatic riparian habitat.Coir has the characteristic of being environmentally responsible and aesthetically pleasing
  • Capable of being customized to specific requirements/technical specifications according to the topographical conditions.
  • Faster binding of soil
  • Naturally resistant to mold & rot, hence needs no chemical treatmentExcellent air and water permeability Enough sunlight passes through
  • Holds the seeds and saplings in place
  • Excellent medium for quick vegetation
  • Degrades over a period of time 2 to 5 years
  • Allows for deep rooting of plants and provides nutrients
  • Easy to install and follows the contour of the soil surface
Coconut Coir logs are made from 100% natural coir fibres compressed in a tubular mesh netting.
Coir Logs will last upto 4-10 years and can be easily installed and will blend naturally into the environment over time.
Coir Logs are strong, yet flexible rolls which prevent soil errosion, hold mineral and organic particles and provide a stable structure for root growth.
Coir Logs are designed to withstand wave impact and storm water sheet flow forces, thus the preferred product for stabilization and re-vegetation of sites where you encounter steep slopes or exposure to waves or currents, causes instability.

The product is a tabular (cylindrical) knitted mesh stuffed with coir fibre. Coir logs are widely used on stream banks, sea shores and lake shores for controlling the sand slide. It is also used in desert areas for controlling sand overcomes.

They find applications in lake and seashores, stream banks and in deserts to prevent sand drifts. The principal use of this products is for erosion control on the banks of rivers, ponds and other inland water bodies.
